Scholarship Fund
Assisting in an athlete’s development.
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Killington Ski Club (KSC) has a long history of providing scholarship monies to athletes of KSC families to assist in their development in their respective snow sport disciplines through the KSC Scholarship Fund and the Matt Harnett Memorial Fund (MHMF). The MHMF was established to honor and remember our coaches who have passed away far too soon, and through their coaching skills, provided a safe and highly positive learning environment for our young athletes in our Development Programs. At this point in time, we honor Wendy Hill, Steve Finneron, Matt Harnett, and Ed Carey in our fundraising efforts. The KSC Scholarship Fund supports our weekend KSC/KMS Development Program athletes twelve years of age and older, the MHMF supports those who are younger than twelve years old.
The KSC Scholarship Committee is continually striving to support larger numbers of weekend Development Program participants, and bring more young athletes into the sport. One of our athletes this past season summed it up in this thank you note; “Thank you for once again helping me and my family out. Each year, this scholarship has helped tremendously and is the reason that I’m able to compete throughout the whole season. We are beyond thankful for all of your help.” The KSC Scholarship Committee, along with the generosity of the KSC Membership & Community, will continue to do our best to support our young athletes in pursuit of their dreams this season, and in seasons to come.
The KSC and MHMF Scholarship Funds receive applications on an annual basis for each upcoming season, applications are due on October 15th. Each application is evaluated, and award recipients are notified in early November prior to the start of KSC/KMS Development Programs for the season. (Please note, KMS operates a separate scholarship fund for their full time KMS athletes.)

Matt Harnett Memorial Fund (MHMF)
KSC coach Matt Harnett passed away in November of 2012. The Matt Harnett Memorial Fund was established to honor and remember our coaches who have passed away far too soon, and through their coaching skills, provided a safe and highly positive learning environment for our young athletes in our Development Programs. At this point in time, we honor Wendy Hill, Steve Finneron, Matt Harnett and Ed Carey in our fund raising efforts.
The Matt Harnett Memorial Fund provides the means to raise monies through charitable donations that provide our younger athletes under the age of 12 opportunities to participate in the KSC/KMS Development Programs. The Memorial Race is our primary fundraising event and held each season in memory of Matt and our other coaches who have left us all to early.

Killington Ski Club Scholarship Fund
Killington Ski Club (KSC) has a long history of providing scholarship monies to our athletes and families to assist in the athletes’ development in their respective snow sport disciplines. Some of our athletes would not have been able to achieve success and make it to the highest levels of the sport without the financial support of the KSC.
The KSC community of athletes and families provides the charitable donations to make continuing financial support of our athletes possible. Also, the annual KSC Ski Swap & Sale is a major fundraising event for the KSC Scholarship Fund. The club has been and always will be committed to the development of our athletes and providing as much financial support as possible to those in need to help them participate in our KSC/KMS Development Programs. The KSC Scholarship Fund supports athletes 12 years of age and older.
